Kenosha loves to eat, so much so that we’ve added 2 extra days to a normal week in February and called it Restaurant Week.
Yes, Kenosha Restaurant Week is back, and this year (2019) it begins Saturday, February 2nd and ends February 10th. Kenosha Restaurant Week is an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their restaurant with a specialty menu not normally offered.
This year, there are over 30 participants from all over Kenosha hoping you’ll stop in, give their food a try, then become ‘regulars’. Restaurant week is different than other weeks for a few reasons.
First, the special menu. The restaurants create a different menu with a different price. Usually, the price for the items is slightly lower than the regular menu. Second, Restaurant week varies based on the Restaurant. Some restaurants will offer breakfast specials, while others will only offer lunch and dinner specialty menus.
Third, Restaurant Week includes events other than just eating and drinking. Below are a few events and discounts that are happening during Restaurant Week:

In this post, I wanted to highlight a few of my favorite restaurants that are taking part in Restaurant Week. I have gone to these restaurants multiple times and the food was always high quality, the services efficient, and the price was right. You should give these restaurants a try before, during, and after Restaurant Week.
Included in the description will include when (dates), what will be offered (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and why I like this restaurant.
Why I like this restaurant: La Fogata is one of the few places in Kenosha where I will wait over an hour for a seat. I’m not sure what’s better the food or the drinks. I think the food served at La Fogata maybe top 10 in Kenosha.
La Fogata sits just off Lake Michigan and feels like an oasis between Carthage College and downtown Kenosha. This restaurant is great all year long but is even better during the summer.
When you go, try the Fried Ice Cream FIRST, then order the Fajitas.
Why I like this restaurant: My first experience with Casa Capri occurred when I was nine when we ate there for a baseball banquet and I’ve been hooked ever since. This is authentic Italian food that is a Kenosha staple. Casa Capri is one of the reasons I’m addicted to Italian food.
Casa Capri is a great option when you crave authentic Italian food. When you go, try Anna’s Homemade Baked Lasagna or the Linguini Matriciana.
Why I like this restaurant: My kids love this restaurant, and if they love it, I love it. My kids like that this restaurant is located under the train tracks (kids love trains). They also like when the mascot stops by the table. My kids have taken several pictures with Charlie.
In addition, there is a train inside the restaurant that delivers food which my kids love but it distracts them from eating. The food is reasonably priced and the employees are patient considering
The menu consists of short order items like hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken fingers.
Why I like this restaurant: Franks Diner is one of the most well know and well like restaurants in Kenosha. This diner has been profiled on Tv shows and the line to eat is around the corner in the summer. Franks Diner offers good
I’ve only eaten at Franks Diner a few times because the line was too long, but when I eat there you realize the lines worth it.
I am a breakfast guy, so I like just about all things breakfast. Franks Diner is known for its garbage plates, so try that.
Why I like this restaurant: Iguana Wana is the youngest restaurant on this list. This restaurant is less than 2 years old, but the food is good, and the service was great. I’ve gone a few times with different sized parties and the wait staff was always able to accommodate us.
I also like the restaurant size. Iguana Wana has a large space so you don’t feel like you are sitting on top of people you don’t know. Recently, they added an outdoor patio which should be great in the summer.
When you go, try the tacos, and their drink specials.
Why I like this restaurant: When we go to Kaiser’s we only get the pizza. Their pizza is top 5 in Kenosha. Kaiser’s is a great place to go before venturing out for the evening. Our favorite pizza is the Kaiser’s special, we order it every single time.
Why I like this restaurant: Villa D’Carlo is located downtown across from the pier, and a short walk to the beach. Also, they have outdoor seating in the summer. Villa D’Carlo has been a staple in Kenosha since 1957, space is limited, so get there early.
In addition to being a breakfast man, I’m also a dessert guy. When you go to Villa D’Carlo try any of their desserts. Also, they have good pizza, and Chicken Marsala. And they deliver!
Why I like this restaurant: Tuscany Bistro is the second youngest restaurant on this list, but they have received great reviews from anyone that has tried their food. Tuscany Bistro features world-renowned chefs, beautiful food, and a great drink menu. Tuscany provides an intimate setting for business, banquets or celebrations.
When you’re there, try the Gnocchi Dello Chef, Gamberi Veneziana, or Lasagna Al Forno. You will not be disappointed.
Why I like this restaurant: This restaurant is a top 5 restaurant in the summer. When the weather is hot, they flip open the windows and let the breeze of the lake roll through. They have a huge chalkboard with several drink combinations. If you’re into whiskey, Captain Mike’s is the place for you.
As the name suggests, they are a burger bar, try any of their burgers as they are big and taste great.
Why I like this restaurant: The Boat House sits on Lake Michigan and is a great place to eat with a great view. The Boat House has a large menu with something from everyone. When you’re there, try the omelet station or Cinnamon French Toast during Sunday Brunch, the Admiral Steak Sandwich, or the fillet Mignon.
To conclude, this is a list of my 10 favorite restaurants that are participating in Kenosha’s restaurant week. These restaurants are great all year long, but restaurant week provides a special opportunity to try good food at a discounted price.
What do you think? Which of the restaurants participating during restaurant week is your favorite? How many of these restaurants have you tried?
